This all started several years ago when Joanie declared, “We’re going on vacation–one year!”. Well, she finally won.
We have “retired” from our jobs and are heading across the country and to New Zealand. The first leg of the trip will be a drive out to California with big stops in New York, Virginia, and Michigan for the holidays. Then, four months in New Zealand working on farms, exploring the mountains, and, of course, surfing and swimming in the ocean. When we get back to the United States we’ll be driving across the country with a targeted return to Plum Island, MA in mid-late August for beach week!!! Most of the trip is unplanned which is just how we want it to be.
We figured a blog would be the best way to keep in touch with folks while we’re traveling. We’ll be posting updates and pictures as often as possible and look forward to seeing comments from all of you. A big thanks to Ken for setting up and designing the blog.
And finally, a little explanation of our header. Tim found this old t-shirt print one day and thought it was the perfect theme for the coming year. We are diving into this year with full appreciation of the sweet and simple pleasures of being footloose and fancy free. Woohooo!!!
